Nalumango orders DMMU to quicken relief distribution

Vice President MUTALE NALUMANGO has directed the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit- DMMU- to ensure that relief emergency donations reach the affected people.
Mrs NALUMANGO says the purpose of the donations is to help improve the livelihoods of people through quick distribution in adherence to transparency and inclusivity.
The Vice President was speaking when she received a donation of 2,500 metric tons of maize from the Indian Government at the Disaster Management Mitigation Unit offices in Lusaka today.
Mrs NALUMANGO commended the Indian government for demonstrating deep solidarity to the Zambian government.
Meanwhile, Indian High Commissioner ASHOK KUMAR reaffirmed the Indian government’s commitment not only in humanitarian assistance but also in economic development.
