Nalumango tells young leaders to maintain peace

Vice President MUTALE NALUMANGO has challenged young political leaders to maintain peace in the country and not resort to politics of violence, hatred and insults.
Ms NALUMANGO says it is important for young political leaders to acknowledge that without peace, the country will not see development.
She says it is important that young political leaders strive to influence society positively in the time accorded to them.
The Vice President said this during the 2024 Political Party Leadership Institute Regional Symposium in Lusaka today which has drawn youths from some other African countries.
Mrs. NALUMANGO who is also an alumni of the National Democratic Institute also reminded the young political leaders that politics should be a selfless venture aimed at serving humanity.
And NDI acting Regional Director for Southern and East Africa, GEMIMA BARLOW said there is need to amplify youth visibility and agency within their political parties.
Ms. BARLOW said it is important for young people on the continent to be seen and included as active participants in the democracy and development processes.
Meanwhile, Youth and Sports Minister ELVIS NKANDU has urged youths to embrace opportunities that are available for them.
