Nalumango: We determined to address the power challenges
Vice President MUTALE NALUMANGO says the government is determined to address electricity challenges beyond the current deficit.
Ms NALUMANGO has however called for concerted efforts in addressing the power deficit.
She was speaking during the commemoration of the AFRICAN Public Service Day.
Mrs . NALUMANGO says the UPND Administration is committed to building a resilient public service capable of responding to various national challenges.
At the same function Secretary to the Cabinet PATRICK KANGWA said the AFRICAN Public Service Day provides a platform for reflection on measures to enhance service delivery.
Mr. KANGWA said the event enables public service officials to interact with members of the public.
And Zambia Congress of Trade Union-ZCTU President BLAKE MULALA called for relentless efforts to improve conditions of services for workers across the country.
Mr.MULALA also called on the government to ensure that public service workers are protected from various forms of harassment.
On the other hand United Nations Resident Coordinator BEATRICE MUTALI stressed the need for Public Service Workers to embrace innovations in a bid to improve service delivery.
This year’s AFRICAN Public Service is commemorated under the theme: Empowering a Citizen Centric Public Service for an inclusive and thriving 21st Africa:A Journey of Life Long Learning and Technology Transformation.
