National Curricula for Internal Auditing to be rolled out
By Rosemary Kamanga
The Ministry of Finance and National Planning has handed over the National Curricula for Internal Auditing to the Institute of Internal Auditors Zambia -IIA.
The curriculum’s development began in 2016, following collaboration between the Ministry of Finance and National Planning and IIA Zambia.
Secretary to the Treasury, FELIX NKULUKUSA, explains that the initiative aimed to address knowledge gaps among auditors in both public and private sectors.
Mr. NKULUKUSA says the ministry recognizes the urgency to implement the curriculum and its importance in expediting rollout.
He said this in a speech read on his behalf by the Ministry of Finance and National Planning Controller Internal Audit, RINGO ZULU, during the curriculum handover to IIA Zambia in Lusaka.
Internal Auditors Zambia President, ESTHER HAMAUNDU, said the new curriculum will enhance auditors’ ability to add value to organisations and society.
Ms. HAMAUNDU said the institute is looking forward to working with higher learning institutions in rolling out the new curricula.
