Ngoma Awards set for December 11,2024

Government says artistic excellence is a powerful tool for unity and societal transformation.
Youth, Sports, and Arts Minister ELVIS NKANDU says the creative industry holds significant potential to foster entrepreneurship and create employment opportunities across the country.
Mr. NKANDU was speaking during the launch of the Ngoma Awards, themed “Celebrating Zambia at 60,” set for December 11, 2024.
He said hosting the Ngoma Awards provides a platform to recognize and validate exceptional talent, hard work, and dedication within the creative sector..
Meanwhile, National Arts Council representative BRIDGET CHIBWE thanked the ministry for its sustained efforts in creating an enabling environment for the arts sector to thrive.
And Muvombo Development Initiative Managing Director WINTER MUVUMBO called on stakeholders to help nurture and promote artistic talent, which could lead to economic growth.
Several cooperating partners made contributions, with Konkola Copper Mines -KCM-donating 100,000 dollars to support the event.
