Nkandu Warns Against Corruption in Empowerment Schemes
By Lucky Phiri
The government has cautioned the youth in the country against paying anyone in exchange for access to any form of empowerment.
Youth, Sport, and Arts Minister, Elvis Nkandu, says there are no fees attached to the empowerment schemes under his ministry.
The Minister said this when he empowered 40 mobile money agents with grants of 5,000 Kwacha each in Kaputa District, Northern Province.
Mr. Nkandu, who is also the Kaputa Member of Parliament, warned those responsible for selecting beneficiaries against engaging in corruption.
He said the government is working hard to combat corruption in the country and challenged the youth to support President Hakainde Hichilema in this fight.
One of the beneficiaries, Patricia Chishala, urged youths to invest the money in productive businesses.
