Nkombo concerned with low uptake of loans and grants under CDF

Local Government Minister GARY NKOMBO is concerned with the low performance of Constituency Development Fund loans and grants.

Mr NKOMBO says the loan and grant components of CDF have not performed well compared to other components.

He says there is a need to adjust regulations so that the money that is not paid back can be taken to other programmes such as climate resilient programmes.

Mr NKOMBO was speaking when he featured on a special programme on Breeze FM in Chipata.

And Eastern Province Minister PETER PHIRI says CDF has made a great impact in the province.

Mr PHIRI says it is unfortunate that some MPs do not appreciate CDF even when it is making a difference in their areas.

Meanwhile, Kapoche Member of Parliament LUCKSON LUNGU has praised the government for dispensing the CDF equally.
