NKOMBO laments lack of IDP Involvement by MPs
By Rosemary Kamanga
Local Government and Rural Development Minister, GARY NKOMBO is concerned over the lack of involvement in the Integrated Development Plans –IDPs- by Members of Parliament and Councillors.
Mr. NKOMBO says Members of Parliament and Councillors must be included in IDPs process as they have been elected to represent the people.
He has urged local authorities to involve them in order to avoid putting up undesired projects as witnessed in the past.
Mr. NKOMBO was speaking during the launch of the Eleven Integrated Development Plans -IDPs for Lusaka and Copperbelt Provinces in Lusaka today.
And Lusaka Province Minister, SHEAL MULYATA said the launch of the documents represents Government’s commitment to aligning the district level development with the broader objectives of the eight national development plan and vision 2030 agenda.
This was in a speech read on her behalf by Lusaka Province Permanent Secretary ROBERT KAMALATA.
