By Blessings Chibuye
The National Prosecution Authority (NPA) has suspended two prosecutors with immediate effect following their arrest by the Anti-Corruption Commission for engaging in corrupt practices.
NPA Public Relations Officer, Chali Mbewe-Hambayi, identified the accused as Juliet Banda and Mwandi Muyumbana, both stationed in Kalomo.
Mrs. Hambayi says the authority actively cooperated in the investigation, which led to the arrest of the two officers.
In a statement released to ZNBC News, Mrs. Hambayi said the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has sanctioned their prosecution.
She said the justice system can only function effectively if all actors, including prosecutors, adhere to the highest standards of ethics and integrity.
