NUPPEZ commends Govt on Teacher Recruitment

National Union of Public and Private Educators of Zambia -NUPPEZ- has commended government for its commitment to recruiting Teachers.

NUPPEZ President VICTOR MUYUMBA says after the Government recruited the 30,000 teachers, many people thought there would be no recruitment in the near future.

Speaking at a media briefing in Lusaka today,Mr MUYUMBA said the recruitment of 4,200 teachers is not a small number especially at a time when the country is grappling with some economic challenges.

He said Government has shown commitment to improving the education sector and reducing the Pupil Teacher ratio.

Meanwhile Mr MUYUMBA said the new curriculum is the most progressive in the history of the country.

He has appealed to Government to pump in money to ensure smooth implementation of the competence based curriculum.
