Over 100,000 Vaccinated in Chililabombwe Cholera Campaign

Over one hundred thousand people have been given the cholera vaccine in Chililabombwe District on the Copperbelt.
This follows the district recording cases of cholera.
Health authorities target to vaccinate over 129,000 people in Chililabombwe.
Chililabombwe District Commissioner Precious Njekwa has described the response to the cholera vaccination campaign as overwhelming.
Ms. Njekwa was speaking in a telephone interview with ZNBC News in Kitwe.
Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, the district has recorded four cholera cases, bringing the cumulative total for the district to 188.
She also disclosed that of the four cases recorded, three are from Poor People’s Compound of Zambia (PPZ) while one is from Kasumbalesa.
Ms. Njekwa also said that in the last 24 hours, eight cholera patients have been discharged from the cholera center, bringing the total number of discharges to 172.
