Plea Fails in IBA Director General Murder Case
By Memory Bbuku
The suspects charged with the murder of former Independent Broadcasting Authority (IBA) Director General, GUNTILA MULEYA, have failed to take plea due to the absence of one of the accused, SAMUEL DOKOWE.
Three of the four accused appeared before Lusaka High Court Judge VINCENT SILOKA. They include:
- FRANCIS CHIPYOKA – Accountant at IBA
- ALEX ZULU – Police officer
- MTHUSANI DOKOWE – Police officer and brother to the absent accused
When the matter came up for plea, the defence lawyer representing the DOKOWE brothers, Mr. CHAWEZI NGOMA, informed the court that SAMUEL DOKOWE could not appear due to illness.
Mr. NGOMa requested an adjournment to allow time for his client to recover and be present for the proceedings.
Judge SILOKA has since adjourned the matter to April 11, 2025, for possible plea.
