Police nab car spare part theft
Police in Lusaka have apprehended a notorious criminal identified as TEDDY CHULU, 43, of unknown house number in Misisi Compound.
Police Spokesperson RAE HAMOONGA says CHULU is linked to a series of theft of motor vehicle parts from parked vehicles in Lusaka town center.
Mr. HAMOONGA further says CHULU was apprehended after he was caught stealing a wiper from a Toyota Sienta.
He says following his apprehension, CHULU led officers to a shop along Freedom Way, where he allegedly sold stolen motor vehicle parts.
Mr. HAMOONGA added that police recovered different motor vehicle parts.
He has since appealed to the general public who could have been victims, to go to Lusaka Central police station and identify the stolen items.
Mr. HAMOONGA further says that the owner of the shop, who is believed to be a recipient of stolen property, is currently on the run and a manhunt has been launched to ensure he is brought to justice.
