Police release protesting students
Twenty students at Lusaka Business Technical College who were apprehended by Police for riotous behaviour have been released .
The studenst were released after being issued with severe warnings regarding their conduct.
Police Public Relations Officer RAE HAMOONGA says the 25 were found at Kabwata ZESCO sub Office demanding an audience with Zesco Center manager on the prolonged hours of power cut.
However, ZESCO spokesperson MATONGO MAUMBI says the situation was as a result of a fault on the service line serving Lusaka Business Technical College, David Kaunda Secondary School and National Institute of Public Administration – NIPA.
He says power has since been restored in the affected learning institutions.
Meanwhile , calm has been restored at LBTC and a check by ZNBC found the institution with electricity .
