Police Service Commission decries misconduct among officers
By Patricia Banda
The Zambia Police Service Commission says the behaviour of some police officers while on duty is unacceptable.
Commission Chairperson PETER MACHUNGWA says police officers are expected to serve the public with dignity.
Dr. MACHUNGWA told ZNBC News that it is unfortunate that some officers have been involved in misconduct including rape cases in Livingstone and Luangwa.
He said the officers in Livingstone and Luangwa will face the law.
And Dr. MACHUNGWA said the incident where a Criminal Investigative Officer TITUS PHIRI- aided the escape of suspects from lawful custody at a police station in Kanyama compound is worrying.
He said it is unfortunate that Mr. PHIRI misconducted himself after serving for many years, with only two years before his retirement.
