Police warn against circulation of explicit videos
The Zambia Police Service has warned members of the public against the use of social media platforms to circulate explicit videos purportedly involving a senior government official in Equatorial Guinea.
Public Relations Officer RAE HAMMONGA says the Zambia Police has noted with concern the growing number of individuals requesting and circulating the videos.
Mr HAMOONGA says the videos, which are alleged to depict acts of a sexual nature in various locations, constitute illegal content under the laws of Zambia.
He has reminded the public that possession, distribution, or circulation of pornographic or explicit content is a criminal offense in Zambia adding that the Zambia Police is closely monitoring this situation.
Mr HAMOONGA has further warned that anyone found soliciting, sharing, or distributing the videos will be investigated and held accountable in accordance with the full extent of the law.
