Police Warn Politicians Against Involving Defense Forces in Political Discussions
Zambia Police Service has warned political leaders against involving the country’s defense and security forces in political discussions.
Police Spokesperson RAE HAMOONGA says the warning comes as police aim to prevent statements that may incite unlawful activities, undermine national security, or disrupt public order
Mr HAMOONGA says while the Constitution of Zambia guarantees freedom of expression, the right must be exercised within the confines of the law.
He told ZNBC News today that any attempts to incite unlawful activities or make statements that undermine national security and public order will not be tolerated.
Mr HAMOONGA urged all citizens and political leaders, to conduct themselves responsibly and refrain from making utterances that may mislead the public, create unnecessary panic, or threaten the peace and stability of the nation.
