President HICHILEMA leads Remembrance Day activities in Lusaka

President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has led war veterans, service chiefs and diplomats accredited to Zambia in Remembrance Day activities held at the National Cenotaph in Lusaka.
President HICHILEMA, who laid wreaths in Remembrance of Zambian, Commonwealth and foreign soldiers who died in various wars, was joined by Constitutional Court Deputy President ARNOLD SHILIMI, Cabinet Ministers and Lusaka Deputy Mayor KETTY NANYANGWE.
Several war veterans, who included former Luapula Province Minister Brigadier General BENSON KAPAYA, also took part in the proceedings.
And Zambia National Service Chief of Religious Services BOSSY NKHOMA has called on Zambians to be loyal, selfless and emulate the spirit of those who died while fighting for freedom.
In his homily during the event, Brigadier General NKHOMA said Zambians must participate in building a united country which enjoys hope and justice.
He says there is need to foster peace, unity and equality for all if the spirit of those who died in wars is to be emulated.
And in an interview, Chief Government Spokesperson CORNELIUS MWEETWA said government is fighting the current challenges of poverty and unemployment in the spirit of fallen heroes
Mr. MWEETWA said Zambians are the current soldiers who should join government is creating a developed country which everyone desires.
He said in keeping with his promises of fighting for Zambians, President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA is this week expected to open Kasenseli Gold Mine in Mwinilunga, Kalengwa Mine in Mufumbwe and Mulungushi Textiles in Kabwe.
Mr. MWEETWA said the reopening of these institutions is aimed at fighting for the betterment of Zambians.
Meanwhile, Justice Minister PRINCESS KASUNE said Remembrance Day is important for Zambia as citizens enjoy all the rights their forefathers fought for.
Ms. KASUNE said Zambians enjoy their freedom of expression and they have access to justice whenever they need it.
