Prof. MWEENE accorded official funeral

President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has accorded an official funeral to the late former Deputy Secretary to Cabinet Professor BENJAMIN MWEENE.

This is in recognition of Professor MWEENE’s numerous accomplishments in the public service.

The former Deputy Secretary to the Cabinet also served as Deputy Vice Chancellor at the University of Zambia.

Professor MWEENE further served as Permanent Secretary for budget and Economic Affairs and Secretary to the Treasury at the Ministry of Finance.

This was prior to his appointment as Deputy Secretary to the Cabinet.

Professor MWEENE died on Wednesday December 25, 2024 at Maina Soko Medical Centre after an illness.

He will be put to rest on Monday December 30, 2024 at Leopards Hill Memorial park in Lusaka.
