Public Service Workers fuel country’s progress – Dr. KALABO

Deputy Secretary to the Cabinet OLIVER KALABO says the public service workers are the engine of any country.
Dr. KALABO says the political leaders depend on the public service to deliver services to the people.
He says a well performing public service sector will lead to growth of the country’s economy.
Dr. KALABO said this during the handover of a silver trophy to the National Health Insurance Management Authority -NHIMA in Lusaka.
He congratulated NHIMA for minting a silver medal at the 43rd Africa Association for Public Administration and Management AAPAM Innovations and Management Awards.
Meanwhile, Cabinet Office Permanent Secretary special duties WISDOM BWALYA said NHIMA’s customer-centric health insurance scheme which won a silver medal demonstrates Zambia’s commitment to innovative public administration.
Mr. BWALYA noted that Zambia submitted 12 innovations for consideration, covering various sectors such as healthcare, education, and technology.
And NHIMA Director General MICHAEL NJAPAU said innovation in public administration is key to addressing complex challenges.
Mr. NJAPAU said NHIMA has worked to embrace technology, streamline processes and create systems that increase efficiency, transparency and accountability.
