Public urged to help Police track JAY JAY BANDA
By Christopher Miti
Inspector General of Police GRAPHEL MUSAMBA has appealed to the public who may have information relating to the whereabouts of Petauke Central Member of Parliament EMMANUEL BANDA to alert the police.
Mr. MUSAMBA says people should feel free to inform the police about the matter.
And Zambia Correctional Service Commissioner General FREDERICK CHILUKUTU has attributed Mr. BANDA’s escape from lawful custody to negligence by the officers who were guarding him.
The two were speaking to journalists in Chipata today after touring the ward where Mr. BANDA escaped from last night.
Mr. BANDA is alleged to have jumped through a window of the premium ward which is on the third floor at Chipata Central hospital.
Police have since launched a manhunt for him.
Mr. BANDA was remanded at Namuseche Prison in Chipata while awaiting his High Court appearance for the aggravated robbery and attempted robbery cases.
