By Ruth Chayinda
The Rural Electrification Authority has successfully commissioned the Kaombe 2024 Grid Extension Project.
The project, which has been completed and commissioned ahead of schedule, reflects REA’s unwavering commitment to bridging the energy gap and enhancing socio-economic development in rural areas.
The extension project will supply power to Kaombe Primary School, Shikasoka Village, and surrounding communities.
In a post monitored by ZNBC on the Authority’s LinkedIn page, a team of engineers, ZESCO, and the contractor Reko Enterprises Ltd., officially energized the project in Mpika District, Muchinga Province.
The project, which comprised an 8.5km MV Distribution Network Transformer upgrade, started in August last year and was expected to be completed by May this year.
