RTSA grounds eleven Juldan Buses

An Audit by the Road Transport and Safety Agency –RTSA- has revealed that ELEVEN JULDAN Motors Buses have disabled Global positioning systems-GPS.
The GPS was disabled for at least 170 days.
And RSTA Chief Executive Officer AMON MWEEMBA says the agency has since halted the operations of the eleven buses.
Speaking at a press briefing in Lusaka today, Mr. MWEEMBA also disclosed that the JULDAN motors bus that was involved in an accident that claimed FOUR lives yesterday also had its GPS disabled.
He explained that the bus driver was stopped and cautioned by the police in Chilanga who noticed the driver was speeding whilst on phone.
Mr. MWEEMBA said the driver however continued over speeding on the road which was slippery due to rainfall.
He explained that according to the passengers that were onboard, the bus left freedom way at 03:30 Hrs in the morning which is before the legal time of 04 hours.
