By Ruth Chayinda
Some former Members of Parliament have backed President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA’s call to amend some non-contentious clauses in the constitution.
Former Katuba Member of Parliament, JONAS SHAKAFUSWA says the call by the President needs to be supported as it will enable large Constituencies to be divided for development to reach all citizens.
In an interview with ZNBC News, Mr SHAKAFUSWA said non-contentious issues in the constitution should be amended and therefore called on all citizens to support President HICHILEMA.
And former Kalabo Member of Parliament GODFREY SIMASIKU said the call by the President to amend the law on delimitation will help enhance development in the large constituencies as the will be divided.
Ambassador SIMASIKU said due to the state of some large constituencies it is hard for a Member of Parliament to reach all corners.
