UPND Consultant MARK SIMUUWE says the debate surrounding former President EDGAR LUNGU, who claims his family is being unfairly targeted and that the properties in question were gifts, can only be settled in the courts of law.
Mr. SIMUUWE has emphasised that if Mr. LUNGU feels aggrieved, he should take the matter to court where detailed evidence on how the properties were acquired can be provided to clear any doubts in the minds of the public.
Speaking to ZNBC News, Mr. SIMUUWE commended law enforcement agencies for their prompt action in addressing cases involving individuals suspected of holding assets believed to be acquired through illicit means.
He said the process of accountability is essential in ensuring justice, as it helps address questions that often arise regarding unexplained wealth.
Mr. SIMUUWE explained that public officials who are custodians of public resources are subject to scrutiny by the citizens.
