SME’s told to get ready for ACFTA

Government has urged Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises-MSMEs to come up with good products that will be able to compete on the international market.
Small and Medium Enterprises Permanent Secretary SUBETA MUTELO says this follows the country being among other countries that are discussing the Africa Continental Free Trade Area.
Speaking during the launch of the 2024 Africa Must Think Campaign, Mrs. MUTELO said it is important for the country to be ready to compete as it finalizes the treaties.
Meanwhile, DLN Entrepreneurship Institute Board Chairperson ALVERT NGANDU said there is need to enhance the potential of innovation in the country.
And Standard Chartered Bank Chief Executive Officer SONNY ZULU urged citizens to use the challenges that the country is currently facing to venture into entrepreneurship in order to help the country.
Mr. ZULU said it is for this reason that the bank has given DLN Entrepreneurship Institute 2.5 million Kwacha to support the upcoming conference.
Speaking at the same event, DLN Entrepreneurship Institute Chief Executive Officer DUMISANI NC’UBE challenged youths to make the change the country needs by engaging themselves in entrepreneurship skills.
