Stakeholders verify ballots at ECZ

The Electoral Commission of Zambia -ECZ- has conducted verification of ballots for by-elections in Kawambwa Constituency of Kawambwa District, Kawama Ward of Chililabombwe District and Lilondo Ward of Shangombo District.

Representatives of various political parties participating in the by-elections were present to witness the verification process and these included the UPND, New Congress Party, FDD and Socialist Party.

Speaking after verification of the ballots, UPND member SITALI LUTANGU described the process as having gone smoothly.

Mr. LUTANGU urged political parties participating in the by-elections to conduct peaceful campaigns and explain their manifestos clearly to the voters.

And New Congress Party President PETER CHANDA said democracy is about transparency, good governance and accountability.

The by-elections are scheduled for Friday 20th December, 2024.
