Stakeholders welcome 4% economic growth
By Ruth Chayinda
Various stakeholders have commended government for putting in place measures that saw the economy grows by 4 percent in 2024.
Economic Association of Zambia President, Oswald Mungule says the economic growth was unexpected following the economic shocks experienced in 2024.
Dr Mungule told ZNBC News that it is important that the country continues on a positive economic trajectory so that the benefits can trickle down to all citizens.
And Economist Oliver Saasa said Government should be praised for growing the economy amid the difficult situation.
And PWC Senior Partner Andrew Chibuye said the 4 percent economic growth shows that the country is not in recession which is a good sign to attract investment in various economic sectors.
Mr Chibuye however said Zambia’s challenges have been outside its control but hoped that this year the country will see better outcomes in the mining and agriculture sector so that the country can build resilience.
And, Bankers Association of Zambia President Lowani Chibesakunda expressed optimism the country will see continued growth this year.
