Storm Dikeledi Causes Rainfall Disruption in Zambia
The Zambia Meteorological Department has attributed the recent lack of rain in some parts of Zambia to the landfall made by Storm Dikeledi in northern Mozambique.
Senior Meteorologist Peggy Thole reported that the affected areas include Muchinga, Eastern, Lusaka, and Central Provinces.
Ms. Thole explained that the storm has now left Mozambique and is headed towards the Mozambique Channel in the Indian Ocean.
She noted that this will result in increased rainfall activities over Eastern, Muchinga, Central, and Lusaka Provinces.
During the update, Ms. Thole expressed concern for Mozambique, which is expected to experience direct effects such as flooding and property damage from the storm.
