Two suspected cholera cases have been recorded in Lusaka’s Kanyama West, and one new case in Chililabombwe District on the Copperbelt.
The Ministry of Health is investigating the case of a nine-year-old girl from Kanyama, who died of cholera symptoms and whose body was deposited in the UTH Mortuary.
Health Minister Elijah Muchima says the two patients from Kanyama received treatment at the Kanyama Cholera Treatment Center and were discharged on February 28th, 2025.
Speaking during a media briefing in Lusaka, Dr. Muchima noted that no deaths have occurred in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, Dr. Muchima said Lusaka still has fourteen reported cases of M-pox, with eleven patients currently admitted.
He assured that the admitted patients are receiving proper care.
Dr. Muchima called on the public to take proactive measures to combat diseases and ensure clean water quality in households.
