Tambatamba concerned with poor work culture in public service

Labour Minister BRENDA TAMBATAMBA has called for increased productivity in the public service.
Ms. TAMBATAMBA says the Government has observed an increased tendency of poor work culture in various workplaces.
She says the Government is paying over 300,000 civil servants adding that it will not tolerate misconduct which leads to a waste of resources that can be channeled to other developments.
Labour Permanent Secretary ZECHARIAH LUHANGA made the remarks when he read a speech on behalf of labour minister BRENDA TAMBATAMBA.
This was during the National Skills, Productivity and Jobs Summit in Lusaka.
And Permanent Secretary for Management Development and Division at Cabinet office MARGRET MIYOBA has urged Companies to put in measures to motivate their workers so as to increase productivity.
Meanwhile, Industrial Development Corporation -IDC- Chief Executive Officer CORNWELL MULEYA said enhancing technology such as the logging in and out in the public service will play a part in reducing workplace misconduct.
And National Institute for Public Administration -NIPA- Executive Director professor JACOB MALUNGO said more people in the Public service are not oriented hence the need for them to undergo training.
