TAZARA considers concession of railway company
By Patricia Banda
Transport and Logistics Minister FRANK TAYALI says the goal for Tanzania and Zambia is to secure a concession that not only upholds the commercial interests of the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation but also guarantees value for money for TAZARA and its shareholders.
Mr. TAYALI says this will ultimately serve the interests of the nations and the people of the two countries.
He notes that constructive dialogue and the spirit of cooperation will pave the way for the smooth implementation of the concession.
Mr. TAYALI was speaking during the Council of Ministers meeting for
the revitalization of TAZARA held in Lusaka.
And Tanzanian Minister of Transport, MAKAME MBARAWA expressed hope that the meeting will pave the way for the revitalization of TAZARA.
Professor MVARAWA observed that TAZARA is currently facing serious challenges due to under recapitalization.
