“There is no Cholera”

The Ministry of Health has clarified that the country has not recorded any cases of Cholera.
Health Minister, ELIJAH MUCHIMA however says there are many suspected cases of watery diarrhea at some health facilities.
Speaking at a press briefing in Lusaka, Dr. MUCHIMA said the ministry has mobilized three million doses of cholera vaccines from China which will be administered to high risk populations once they arrive into the country.
Dr. MUCHIMA noted that health facilities have been instructed to keep stock of drugs and medical supplies to manage the first 50 cases of Cholera if the disease breaks out.
He added that district medical stores have also been instructed to keep stock of medical supplies for the first 200 patients.
