“They tried to make me drop the case against John General”
A witness testified in court today that there were attempts to influence a Lusaka woman, who was allegedly raped by Pastor John Nundwe, popularly known as John General, to withdraw the case.
The witness was testifying before Lusaka Magistrate Amy Masoja in a case where the Miracles Impact Ministries International bishop is accused of raping one of his church members.
The offense is contrary to sections 132 and 133 of the Penal Code, Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.
The witness also denied allegations that he demanded 800,000 Kwacha from the accused to settle the matter out of court.
The victim’s husband stated this during cross-examination when defense lawyer Yokonia Daka produced withdrawal letters written by both the witness and his wife.
