Tollgate Booth Operator nearly dies after Truck accident

A tollgate booth operator has been seriously injured when a truck laden with fertilizer rammed into the booth he was operating at George Kunda toll gate in Mkushi.
Police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga says Mr. Dimas Yombwe, who was inside the booth at the time, sustained a deep cut on the head, a suspected fractured left shoulder, painful legs, and general body pains.
He was rushed to Mkushi District Hospital, where he is currently admitted and receiving medical attention.
Mr Hamoonga says the driver of the truck, Mr. Henry Musariri, escaped unhurt and has been detained as investigations are ongoing.
H said the the truck’s cabin was extensively damaged, and the toll gate booth was also significantly damaged.
