United Kwacha Alliance crumbling
By Mwila Nsofu
United Kwacha Alliance -UKA- Secretary General, LUCKY MULUSA has resigned from the political grouping.
Mr. MULUSA has stepped down following wrangles in the alliance which saw three Opposition leaders expelled yesterday.
The Alliance Presidents expelled are PETER SINKAMBA, DAN PULE and SEAN TEMBO.
In a letter to the Chairperson of the Alliance, SAKWIBA SIKOTA, Mr. MULUSA described the environment in the Alliance as TOXIC, perpetuated by just a few individuals who caucus before every meeting.
Meanwhile, Patriots for Economic Progress -PeP- Leader, SEAN TEMBO said it is a relief that he is no longer affiliated to UKA.
Mr. TEMBO said this is because the Alliance is a dysfunctional organization that has no written rules and maintains no written records of minutes or resolutions of its meetings.
He said a large portion of time is spent arguing about what was resolved on a given matter in previous meetings.
