UNZA plans to build arts centre

The University of Zambia has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Arts Council on the construction of an Arts centre.

Speaking during the event, Minister of Youth, Sports and Arts ELVIS NKANDU said the creative sector is viable and can contribute to the economic development of the country .

University of Zambia Vice Chancellor MUNDIYA MUYA said the MoU will contribute to the growth of the Arts sector in the country.

Professor MUYA said this in a speech read on his behalf by UNZA Deputy Vice Chancellor Research and Innovation Professor TRIWEL KALUSOPA.

Meanwhile, Education Minister  DOUGLAS SYAKALIMA said the establishment of the Arts center showcases the government’s commitment to promoting the sector .

Ministry of Education Director Universities AMOS MUMBA said this when he presented a speech for Mr. SYAKALIMA.
