UPND dissolves EP committee
By Ruth Chayinda
The UPND has with immediate effect dissolved its Eastern Provincial leadership committee.
And the party has also dissolved the Petauke District leadership and Constituency Committees.
UPND Secretary General BATUKE IMENDA says the decision to dissolve the committees is due to the divisions and disunity in the structures.
Speaking at a media briefing, Mr. IMENDA said for now the all district structures in the province will report directly to the Secretariat until the Provincial positions are filled.
He said this is part of the remedial measures that the party has opted to undertake to restore unity in the party in Eastern province.
And Mr. IMENDA has congratulated Tonse Alliance for winning the Petauke seat saying it shows that democracy in the country is thriving.
