UPND Urges Clergy to Promote Unity and Good Governance
By Mark Ziligone
The UPND has emphasized the church’s vital role in promoting good governance and leadership, urging collaboration with the government. The party has also called on the clergy to avoid using the pulpit to deliver divisive messages.
UPND Chairperson for Special Studies, William Banda, encouraged the clergy to foster peace and unity among Zambians.
Mr. Banda made these remarks while welcoming over 100 defectors from various political parties in Lusaka’s Kabulonga Ward 19. He urged the new members to integrate with existing party structures and strengthen the UPND’s political presence in the Lusaka Central constituency.
Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Astridah Mbumwae stated that they decided to join the UPND due to the development initiatives being implemented by the party.
