VEEP calls for better CDF monitoring
By Wilson Mulinda
Vice President MUTALE NALUMANGO has called for enhanced monitoring of Constituency Development Fund -CDF- to address the concerns raised in the Transparency International Zambia –TI-Z- report on CDF.
Mrs. NALUMANGO says all Members of Parliament should be concerned with the content in the report.
She says President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has emphasized that certain constituencies need to improve on CDF uptake to develop.
Mrs. NALUMANGO was responding to Chikankata Member of Parliament JACQUELINE SABAO who wanted to find out if government will act on the recommendations by TIZ to suspend increases to CDF allocations.
This was during the Vice President’s question time in the National Assembly.
Meanwhile, Mrs. NALUMANGO expressed concern with MPs politicizing government’s financial support to vulnerable pregnant women.
She said initiatives like cash for work and emergency cash transfer will continue to support vulnerable families as well as those affected by floods.
