Witness Testifies in Lusaka West Couple Murder Case
By Memory Bbuku
A witness has testified in the Lusaka High Court that the bodies of a couple from Lusaka West, who were allegedly murdered by their garden boy in 2022, were found in a decomposed state.
Charity Ichidi, a scene of crime officer, has testified before Judge Elita Mwikisa that the couple’s house appeared to have been broken into, with household goods scattered around.
This is in a matter where Godfrey Phiri is accused of murdering his employers, Bernard Chomba and his wife Chileshe Bwalya.
The witness, however, noted that the fact that the entrance to the couple’s house was not tampered with indicated that they knew their attacker.
Meanwhile, in another case, Lusaka High Court Judge Vincent Siloka has set March 21, 2025, as the date for judgment in the matter where Marjory Chanda and her husband, Smart Mumba, are accused of murdering their 14-year-old maid.
This is after the defense closed their case.
