Woman Raped By 3 Men After Booking Taxi
A 28-year-old woman has allegedly been gang raped by 3 men in Livingstone, Southern province.
The incident happened on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at about 21:30 hours in Zambia Railways compound near a bar .
Southern Province Police Commanding Officer, Auxensio Dake has confirmed, saying one of the assailants is a driver of the taxi she booked while coming from a funeral in Dambwa North area.
Mr Daka says after booking the taxi, the driver decided to stop at the bar where he said he wanted to buy something.
He said the driver returned later and forcefully pulled her out of the vehicle, dragging her into a nearby bush opposite the bar, where he ordered her to undress.
Mr Daka says the driver then started raping, before two other men, who were also on the same taxi came and also took turns to rape..
He says after the assault, the suspects took the woman’s phone, fled the scene,leaving her unconscious.
Mr DAKA says the woman was only discovered by another man of Dambwa Central, who was dropping off his co-workers and he took her to Linda Police Station, where the matter was reported.
A docket of case has been opened while the assailants are on the run and their vehicle has NOT been identified.
