Young Woman raped and murdered in Lusaka

A woman believed to be in her 20s has been raped and murdered by unknown assailants in Lusaka’s Garden House area.

The body of the woman was discovered partially undressed in a bush.

Police Spokesperson RAE HAMOONGA has confirmed the incident stating that the deceased woman has NOT yet been identified.

He has explained that police have since launched investigations into the matter.

And a check by ZNBC News found scores of residents gathered, trying to catch a glimpse of the body.

One of the residents, ANDYSEN CHAMA, said the body was found around 06:00 hours by members of the community.

Another resident, NZALA HANOBA, called for increased security in the area.

Ms. HANOBA urged the police to intensify patrols to ensure the safety of residents, particularly women.
