ZACCI calls on govt to speed up dam construction

The Zambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ZACCI) has urged the government to speed up the building of agricultural dams and encourage private sector participation in the energy sector.

The Chamber has also urged the government to prioritize continental and regional inter-connectors for short-term stability.

ZACCI President, Antony Kabaghe, says the energy crisis and rising exchange rates are disrupting businesses.

Mr. Kabaghe notes that the drought has worsened food security concerns, leading to increased food prices and scarcity.

He further said there is a need for the implementation of the Mineral Regulatory Commission to ensure effective management of mineral resources.
