
Zambia and Burundi Make Progress on Bilateral Agreements
Zambia and Burundi have started actualizing bilateral agreements which the two countries signed in August 2024 when Burundian President Evaristo Ndayishimiye visited Zambia.
The six bilateral agreements were in various fields and so far, the two countries have agreed to opened embassies.
As part of the bilateral agreements, a delegation from the Burundi Senior Command and Staff College is in the country to benchmark best practices from the Zambia Defence Force.
The delegation paid a courtesy call on Defence Minister Ambrose Lufuma who said a lot of progress has been made between the two countries to actualize the six bilateral agreements signed in 2024.
Mr. Lufuma said cooperation between the Zambia Defence Force and the Burundi Defence Force has been enhanced in an effort to promote bilateral relations.
And Burundian Ambassador to Zambia Evelyn Butoyi said a lot of work has been done since the six bilateral agreements were signed between Zambia and Burundi last year.
Meanwhile, Burundi Senior Command And Staff College Delegation Leader Brigadier General Nestor Nibayubahe said his delegation wants to benchmark best practices from the Zambia Defence Force.
