Zambia has so far attracted a total of 1.7 million international tourists between January and October this year.
Tourism Minister RODNEY SIKUMBA says the government is hopeful that the number of tourists will increase to two million before the year ends.
Mr. SIKUMBA was speaking during the 2024 Tourism Excellence Awards in Lusaka.
He has since encouraged Zambians to invest more in the tourism sector and utilise the available opportunities.
And Mr SIKUMBA says the visit to Zambia of American media personality STEVE HARVEY has also contributed to the recent numbers of tourists.
Meanwhile, Zambia Tourism Agency Chairman DAAN BRINK has urged the government to address the growing concern of mosquitoes in Livingstone.
Mr. BRINK says effectively tackling this issue will boost tourism in the city.
