
Zambia Calls For Timely Remittance of Financial Obligations to SADC

Zambia has called for timely remittances of financial obligations to the Southern African Development Community -SADC.
Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Permanent Secretary ETAMBUYU GUNDERSEN says sustained financial commitment from all Member States is crucial to achieving SADC’s long-term development goals.
Speaking at the ongoing SADC Council of Ministers Meeting in Harare, Zimbabwe, Ms. GUNDERSEN said as the region confronts evolving economic and geopolitical challenges, cooperation and financial discipline are vital to advancing SADC’s objectives.
She said SADC needs to strengthen its commitment to financing its own development agenda.
The Permanent Secretary said Zambia remains firm in its support for regional integration, financial discipline, and sustainable development.
Ms. GUNDERSEN also expressed Zambia’s gratitude to the SADC Heads of State and Government for endorsing SAMUEL MAIMBO as the region’s candidate for the Presidency of the African Development Bank -AfDB.
