Zambia confirms 15 Mpox cases
(ZANIS) Zambia has confirmed 15 cases of Mpox, with the latest 8 cases reported in Lusaka.
And the Ministry of Health says is actively tracing contacts and strengthening surveillance to prevent further spread of the disease.
Ministry of Health Senior Health Promotions Officer, JOSHUA SIAME disclosed this on ZNBC’s The Update programme.
Mr. SIAME noted that the cases are concentrated in Kanyama, Bauleni, Garden, and Upper Lusaka.
He emphasized the importance of public awareness, highlighting that the number of cases has risen quickly.
Mr. SIAME said the Ministry and, the Bus and Taxis Owners Association of Zambia have also been engaged to educate bus drivers, as Mpox is primarily transmitted through close contact.
