Zambia, DRC confer over border shooting

Defense Minister AMBROSE LUFUMA has called for a thorough investigation into the circumstances that led to the shooting to death of a Zambia National Service -ZNS- officer on December 1st by suspected Congolese forces.
Mr. LUFUMA said there is need to ascertain the facts and circumstances leading to the shooting incident because the two countries owe it to their citizens.
He says as neighboring countries, the security and safety of the people of Zambia and the DRC is paramount to fostering regional peace and stability.
Mr. LUFUMA was speaking during a ministerial security meeting between Zambia and a delegation from the DRC.
And DRC Minister of Interior Security Decentralization and Traditional Affairs JACQUEMIN SHABANI called on the two countries to look at the demarcation of the Borders to avoid reoccurrence of such incidents.
