“Zambia has enough ARVs “
By Alice Lubasi
The Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency (ZAMMSA) says the country has enough supply of anti-retroviral (ARV) drugs to meet the demand.
This follows recent concerns by members of the public that there is a current or impending shortage of the drugs.
ZAMMSA Senior Corporate Communications Officer, Enoch Lusoke, says the agency has over six months’ supply of first, second, and third-line ARV drugs.
Mr. Lusoke says this is aimed at ensuring that all patients undergoing anti-retroviral treatment receive their necessary medications without interruption.
Mr. Lusoke told ZNBC News that healthcare facilities that may have experienced temporary shortages are urged to submit emergency orders for restocking to ensure uninterrupted services to the community.
